Coucou Ramblers! Sorry for not posting a blog post last week and for posting this one a day late! I was too busy with class, work and getting ready for my trip to France to write a blog last week and then I didn’t have any time to really open my computer while I was in France haha. Anyways, since this week was supposed to be a minimalism and sustainability blog post, I figured I would share what I brought to France with me!
Since I was only traveling for a week, I wanted to keep it light and easy. So, I only brought one backpack - the same one that I use for work, school, and kickboxing. I was honestly a little surprised that I was able to fit everything but it was so nice going to the airport and walking around with just a backpack just like I do when I go to work! Although granted, the backpack was fuller and heavier than usual.
In case you’re wondering, the backpack I have is the Altos Superlight by Venque. Although the price tag is a bit higher than I’m used to, I have a feeling this backpack is gonna last me a lot longer than the typical backpack/ work bag. Plus, since this backpack is so multipurpose for me, the higher price was worth it to me!
Anyways, here is a list of everything I brought:
Small notebook (for drawing)
A grey pouch containing a portable charger, lactase pills, USB-c cable, wall charger, and hand sanitizer, chapstick
Makeup pouch: mascara, eyelash curler, lip gloss, Q-tips, small scissors, tweezers, toothbrush, necklace, earrings (usually I also bring BB cream and a foundation brush, but my skin needed a small break from makeup)
A foldable bag (I highly recommend bringing a second bag for shopping and in case you need another bag on the way back!)
A mason jar (so that I could store water, coffee, or solids)
An umbrella (cause it always rains in Metz, France)
My passport/ card/ money holder that holds my two passports, essential cards, and cash
A small wallet for my destination so that I don’t have to carry my passports with me
My OPUS metro card
Two long-sleeved tops (one worn on the flight)
One short-sleeved top
One tank top
My PJs (shirt and shorts)
Two pairs of shoes (one worn on the flight)
A pair of jeans (worn on flight)
Two bras (one worn on flight)
4 pairs of socks (one worn on flight)
Alright, I think that is everything I had! Obviously, what you bring will depend on where you’re going and what you think is essential for traveling. For me, these are the things I knew I would need for this specific trip! I was traveling to France to surprise my grandpa for his 85th birthday. Hence, why I needed a nice dress and heels. If I were traveling somewhere else or for different reasons, one of the pairs of shoes would probably be sneakers or walking shoes.
Also, since I was able to stay at my grandma’s house with my parents, I knew there were some things I didn’t need to bring since I could always borrow from my grandma or parents. For instance, I knew I could leave my lotion and toothpaste behind.
I hope you guys found this post interesting! Let me know in the comments below if you typically pack light or prefer to pack more!
Have an amazing weekend Ramblers!
