We have some exciting news, which we’ll dive into more on the podcast later this week. We’ve gone through a bit of a rebrand and update here on HoneyButter Ramblings. Anne and I realized that what makes our relationship and connection so strong is that we bring different interests and ideas to the table.
That being said, it was getting hard for each of us to blog on the same topics, especially if it was only interesting to one of us! The point of HoneyButter was for our friendship to continue even if we’re in different countries, and to spend quality time together doing something fun. It all started when we lived together in college, and we would put honey and butter on our toasts in the morning while we’d eat breakfast. The best thing about honey and butter is that although different, they go great together. Just like Ann and me! So we wanted to keep the blog together, but also hone in on the topics we are each passionate about. I invite you to check out the new format below and tune in to the podcast this week to learn more.
This corner will be devoted to my blogs and my two specialty topics. The honey I’m bringing to the table is all on professional development. As many of you know, I was a peer career advisor in college, and I focused on resumes, interview tips, and helping young people find jobs and internships post-college. I will continue to that in this section of the blog.
My second topic, the butter, will be on young adult tips. Whether it’s navigating finance, sharing information on relationships or trip planning, or even just writing down my feelings as I navigate my early twenties…this section of the blog will cover all of that. I hope many of you can relate to it.
Anne’s corner of the blog will consist of her two topics as well. Her Honey topic will focus on sustainability and minimalism, and help you all connect to your environmentally friendly side. Anne’s second topic, the Butter, will focus on her craftier side. With her DIYing, baking recipes, and other crafting tips; this is a great section for those of you who have a more artistic side.
Regardless of which of our four sections catch your eye, or if all of them do, you can pick and choose what you want to read about! We realized the blog was a little all over the place, and we wanted to bring some order to it and zero in on the topics we were both passionate about. Please note that we are in the process of transitioning all old blogs into their proper sections, so stay patient with us until then.
The Podcast Update
Also, we wanted to note that the podcast has moved to biweekly instead of weekly, to accommodate our busy lives! The podcast represents the toast of our HoneyButter toast that we would have in the morning, it’s the piece that brings it all together. We will still be doing the podcast together, even though we’re separating the blogging. The podcast will contain the themes that Anne and I share, and give us a chance to catch up on each other’s lives. You can still find the podcast on Wednesdays at 6 pm MT.
There you have it Ramblers, we hope you enjoy the new rebrand! By focusing in on our specialty topics, we hope it will provide true insight and interest to what each of you cares most about. Please comment below if you like the new format or would like to see additional changes. Thank you all again, and ramble on!
