Are you a Virgo? Pisces? Or maybe a stubborn Taurus like myself? No matter what you are, I think we can all agree that there is a bit of guilty pleasure in reading your horoscope to find out more about “you.” I think majority of people are somewhat narcissistic in the sense that we all love to hear about ourselves, talk about ourselves, and see ourselves. Hence, the Instagram culture, selfie obsession, and endless Buzzfeed quizzes telling you what type of cupcake you are.
As a 20-something year old woman, I’m sure I’m not alone is wishing I was thinner/ taller/ leaner/ stronger/ etc. The concept of beauty and health being one and the same is drilled into us from childhood. The media portrays a healthy woman as someone who is thin, fair, beautiful, and hairless. While we are getting better at displaying diversity in body types and shapes, skin color, and overall uniqueness; we still have a long way to go as a society.
I am SO happy it’s March and I’m so happy that I’m finally feeling recovered from wisdom teeth surgery. The biggest thing I’m looking forward to in March is Spring Break in Jamaica with my family. I feel super fortunate to be able to go on this trip, and I didn’t think “spring break” would be an option when I graduated college.
Another Monday, another long week ahead!
I hope you all are refreshed from the weekend and feeling ready to take on the week. I’ll be out on Friday to get my wisdom teeth removed, so I’m trying to play catch up as much as I can before I’m incapacitated.
Sometimes, I feel like a huge scatterbrain with my mind running a mile a minute. Life is crazy busy, and it can be easy to let go of goals and get sidetracked. As I mentioned at the beginning of this year, I wanted to practice more mindfulness, and bullet journaling has been helping me to do that.
