Hello Ramblers! You guys have probably noticed that this week has revolved a lot around the environment and taking care of it. Y’all have probably also noticed that both Bailey and I are big fans of nature and very passionate about taking care of our planet. So, to continue talking about this very important topic, I’m going to talk about one of the biggest ways to save the Earth: the zero waste lifestyle.
The shortest definition of zero waste living is to not send anything to the landfill. However, in our day and age, that is almost impossible. So the longer, more relatable definition (in my opinion) for zero waste living is to change your lifestyle in order to reduce the amount of unnatural waste (ie. plastic) and one-time use items (ie. cleaning wipes, cotton rounds) in your life.
Now, even though I am striving to become more zero waste every day, I am definitely not an expert in the zero waste lifestyle. So, before I start talking about the steps I’ve taken, here are some great blogs, YouTubers, Instagrammers, etc. that I follow for zero waste inspiration:
Going Zero Waste
Less Waste Laura
Life Without Plastic
Ecogoddess (Zero Waste Kit)
The Sustainable Collective
The Decoupling Couple
Go check out these awesome zero wasters and get inspired! I follow of all of the above on Instagram and seeing their pictures and reading their posts have really inspired me in the last year or so to become more educated on zero waste and change my lifestyle. So, now I’m going to share some of the steps I have taken to reduce my waste, especially single-use waste.
Any products I share will be linked. Most of them will be from Amazon since I don’t know where you are reading this from, but please try to look for these items in local stores before ordering online! This will support your local businesses and help reduce packaging waste.
Right now, these are the only changes my poor memory can remember, so I will end this post here. I hope you guys enjoyed reading these steps toward a less wasteful lifestyle and that you will incorporate some of these into your lives. I also hope that I was able to show you how simple it can be to be less wasteful!
Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments!
