Salutations Ramblers! Anyone remember what book/ movie that’s from? That’s definitely a blast from the past, am I right? Before we begin, I want to apologize for posting this blog post behind schedule! I know this was supposed to be up yesterday, but you know, life happens. Anyhoo, today I’m going to list some very aesthetic places that are a blast from the past! Since I have spent a lot of time in Colorado and am continuing to explore Montréal, I will be including some places from both areas!
Kitsch’n Swell - Montréal
Boutique Kitsch’n Swell is a retro and pin-up girl style store that will take you right back to the 1940s. You can find everything vintage from home decorations, clothing, accessories, and more. The decorations inside the store include everything from hair salon chairs from the past to animal skulls to taxidermied animals.
Dunn’s Famous - Montréal
Dunn’s Famous is a delicatessen that has been open since 1927. Since it’s opening, the decoration style hasn’t changed much. Entering this deli is like going straight into a deli from a 1920s movie, red bar stools, red booths, classic milkshakes and all.
The Fort Collins Candy Store Emporium - Fort Collins
This candy store is the cutest! You will definitely feel like you are traveling back in time when you enter this store. Plus, you can also look and buy some of the coolest candy - all of which is vintage-style candy. We opted for the vintage chocolate cigarettes and some gum in retro containers!
Social - Fort Collins
Social is a underground, speakeasy-style bar and it is really cool. This cocktail bar is only marked by a street clock and a well-lit stairwell. When you enter Social, you can see an enormous liquor-filled wall behind the bar, some tables with bar stools, and some booths with vintage-style leather. Also, if you like science, they you’ll love their beakers and how much chemistry goes into the preparation of some drinks. So, go get your 1920s costume and head over to Social for a fun night that will make you feel like you are in the prohibition era.
Alright, well that is all I have for you Ramblers! I hope you guys have a chance to check these out one day. If you already have been to one of these, let me know what you thought down below! I have been to all of these except for Dunn’s Famous. I haven’t had the chance to go there yet but after looking at their milkshakes, it’s definitely on my to-do list for this summer!
Have a good weekend! Ramble On!
